Mr. Mohammad Iqbal is a British national of Afghan origin, based in London. He is a
senior management, legal, and operations professional with over 29 years of
international experience, including 21 years with the United Nations and 8 years
across NGOs, civil society, the private sector, and financial institutions. He holds
advanced qualifications in Law, Islamic Law, and an International Diploma in Anti-
Money Laundering.
Over two decades of UN service spanning programme management, legal
advisory, governance, rule of law, and peacebuilding across complex,
multicultural environments.
Mr. Iqbal is an active member of the Afghan Diaspora Jirga, contributing to initiatives
focused on women's education and economic empowerment, peace and security, rule
of law and good governance, and national development. His expertise in institutional
